La Haworthia cuspidata It is a species belonging to the Xanthorrhoeaceae family and the Asphodeloideae subfamily, native to the south of the African continent. In English it is known by the common name Star Window Plant, which would come to mean »Star window plant»By the form it takes.

haworthia cuspidata variegata

It grows in rosettes composed of very hard leaves, dark green or variegated (Haworthia cuspidata variegata) more or less triangular in shape and smooth edges. It is acaule, which means that it does not have a stem. It develops a little above the ground, reaching a height of no more than ten centimeters.

The flowers emerge of a very thin flower stem, less than 0,5cm thick and long, up to 7cm. They are shaped like a small bell, white with pinkish-reddish lines. If you want to see and photograph them, you can do it during spring, at which time the plant resumes its growth after winter.

Also, you should know that its cultivation is suitable for beginners. You just have to protect it from direct sun and temperatures below -4ºC. With two weekly waterings in summer and one biweekly the rest of the year, as well as a regular supply of fertilizer, it has more than enough to look as beautiful as the first day.
